Pastor Jeff and YTM's president met while attending The Criswell College
in Dallas
Texas. They became close friends and have serve the Lord together several
times
over the years. Pastor Jeff joined the staff at Younthville in Newton
Kansas in 2005.
Pastor
Jeff ministers to the students who will stay at Younthville for
anywhere from
a few days up to six months. He works with the students teachers,
councilors, and
care givers as complete care possible. "P.J." as the students call him is
available for
counseling and comforting at any time day or night. P.J. leads the all
volunteer
Younthville choir and provides a chapel service each Tuesday evening.
YTM
has been invited to lead the Tuesday night chapel service twice
today. Our
first visit to Younthville was in November 2007. We saw an opportunity to
make a
real and lasting investment in "P.J.'s ministry and the lives of the
students he serves.
After prayer and planning we sought to build and donate a A/V kit that
would allow
him to use I-Worship software in leading the music portion of the chapel
service. It
would also allow him to project movies, teaching notes, and scriptures.
We
investigate what Jeff would need in equipment and priced out the
project. After
determining the amount we would need we asked the Lord to provide and
after
sharing the opportunity with our YTM finical partners and Authentic Life
Fellowship
the funds were raised in under 48hrs!
The
equipment was purchased and was delivered to Jeff and the students
of
Younthville on January 8th 2008. The students were overjoyed and Jeff
shared how
this gift was an answer to prayer. During that evenings chapel service we
were
pleased to see several students receive Christ as their personal savior.
This
investment will be used for years and only eternity will show the
impact it will
have made in the hearts and lives of the staff & students of Younthville.
